الخطوط الجوية الإثيوپية

الخطوط الجوية الإثيوپية (أمهرية: የኢትዮጵያ አየር መንገድ (ye-Ityopya ayer menged)؛ የኢትዮጵያ (ye-Ityopya) اختصاراً)، هي شركة الطيران الوطنية الإثيوپية[6] وهي مملوكة بالكامل للحكومة الإثيوپية. تأسست في 21 مارس 1945 وبدأت عملياتها التجارية في 8 أبريل 1946، وتوسعت للوجهات الدولية عام 1951. أصبحت شركة مساهمة وتغير اسمها للحالي عام 1965. أصبحت عضواً في الاتحاد الدولي للنقل الجوي منذ عام 1959 وعضواً في [[اتحاد خطوط الطيران الأفريقية منذ عام 1968.[7] وهي عضو ستار أليانس، حيث انضمت للتحالف في ديسمبر 2011.

مركزها ومقرها الرئيسي[8] مطار بوله الدولي في أديس أبابا، ومن هناك توفر شبكة إلى 120 وجهة طيران-20 وجهة داخلية و44 وجهة شحن. للشركة مركز ثاني في توگو ومالاوي.[9] وتعتبر الخطوط الجوية الإثيوپية أكبر خطوط طيران في أفريقيا من حيث عدد الركاب، الوجهات، حجم الأسطول، والدخل.[10][11]

في 10 مارس 2019 تحطمت طائرة بوينگ 737 تابعة للخطوط الجوية الإثيوپية بعد دقائق من إقلاعها من أديس أبابا إلى نيروبي، كينيا، ومقتل جميع ركابها الـ157.


وقع الحادث في الساعة 8.44 صباحاً، وكان ذلك عقب الإقلاع من مطار العاصمة أديس أبابا مباشرة. وكانت شركة الطيران قالت في بيان إن عمليات البحث والإنقاذ جارية، دون أن تذكر تفاصيل عن عدد الضحايا، حتى أعلنت مقتل جميع ركاب الطائرة في الحادث. وحسب شهود عيان، فقد اندلع حريق ضخم عند سقوط الطائرة على الأرض، ولم يتمكن رجال الإنقاذ من الاقتراب من موقع السقوط لشدة النيران.[18]
