هجوم حلب (نوفمبر–ديسمبر 2016)، يشار إليه باسمه الرمزي عملية فجر النصر من قبل القوات الحكومية،[43] هو هجوم عسكري شنته القوات المسلحة السورية والجماعات المتحالفة معها ضد الأحياء الخاضعة لسيطرة المعارضة في حلب. جاء الهجوم بعد انتهاء وقف الغارات الجوية من قبل روسيا، وقامت القوات المسلحة الروسية مرة أخرى بشن ضربات جوية وصواريخ كروز مكثفة ضد مواقع المعارضة في جميع أنحاء شمال غرب سوريا.[43] وقد أسفر الهجوم الذي شنته طائرات النظام السوري و روسيا الى مقتل أكتر من 300 مدني[44] و إختناق عشرات، ونزوح آخرين [45] وقد وصف الهجوم بأنه نقطة تحول محتملة في الحرب الأهلية.[46][47]

في 15 نوفمبر 2016، أطلقت الفرقاطة الأميرال گريگوروڤتش التابعة للبحرية الروسية صواريخ كروز من طراز كاليبر على مواقع المعارضة في محافظة إدلب وأهداف المعارضة و‌داعش في محافظة حمص، وأجزاء خاضعة لسيطرة المعارضة من حلب نفسها حسبما أفيد، وهو ما نفته روسيا. كما شنت طائرات سوخوي سو-33 من حاملة الطائرات الروسية الأميرال كوزنيتسوڤ ضربات جوية في جميع أنحاء شمال غرب وغرب سوريا، بما في ذلك الأحياء التي تسيطر عليها المعارضة من حلب.[48] في اليوم نفسه، قامت القوات المسلحة السورية والميليشيات المتحالفة ب"الاستعدادات النهائية" لهجوم واسع النطاق في شرق حلب.[49]
