سيما تشيان Sima Qian (ح. 145-86 ق.م.) كان ناظر كبار الكتبة (太史令) في أسرة هان. ويُعتبر أبو التأريخ الصيني بسبب عمله الذي ينال إطراءً كبيراً، سجلات المؤرخ الأكبر (史記)، وهو استعراض عام لـتاريخ الصين غطى أكثر من ألفي سنة منذ الامبراطور الأصفر حتى الامبراطور هان وودي (漢武帝). وقد أرسى عمله الحاسم أسس التأريخ الصيني اللاحق.
