بيت مري
بيت مري هي إحدى القرى اللبنانية من قرى قضاء المتن في محافظة جبل لبنان. وهي تطل على العاصمة بيروت.

المدينة هي موقع مهرجان البستان السنوي ،[1] الذي عقد في مسرح فندق البستان [2]
تم إنشاء المهرجان في عام 1994 من قبل ميرنا البستاني ، مالك الفندق.
من بين الفنانين الذين أدوا في المهرجان ، جوليان لويد ويبر (عازف التشيلو) ، غوتييه كابون (عازف التشيلو) ، جانلوكا مارشيانو (موصل) ، فرجينيا تولا (سوبرانو) ، إنفا مولا (سوبرانو) ) ، أوليفر بول (عازف البيانو) ، آنا تيفو (كمان).

سكان بيت مري هم بشكل أساسي المسيحية (المارونية ، الأرثوذكسية اليونانية ، الكاثوليكية اليونانية ، الأرمينية الأرثوذكسية) و درزي.
جغرافيا
تحتل بيت مري تلًا يتراوح ارتفاعه بين 700 و 750 مترًا فوق مستوى سطح البحر ، مما يوفر إطلالات على بلدة شبه جزيرة بيروت وجزءًا من ساحل البحر المتوسط في لبنان. تبلغ مساحتها 5.48 كيلومتر مربع. منذ عام 2000 بدأت بيت مري لتكون مدينة ضواحي وتبعد 16 كيلومتر عن بيروت.
التاريخ
جعل الحكام الرومان في لبنان بيت مري منتجع صيفي بسبب موقعه العالي والطقس الصيفي.[3]
الآثار
يوجد موقعان أثريان من قبل التاريخ في بيت مري، حيث عُثر على مصنوعات من الصوان عثر عليهم علماء الآثار اليسوعيين:[4]
1) بيت مري 1 وهو على الضفة اليمنى لنهر بيروت، south southwest of the town at an altitude of نحو 125 متر فوق سطح البحر. It was found by Jesuit Father Dillenseger who determined it to be an Acheulean site. The material was donated to the Saint Joseph University by كلية الطب الفرنسية.[4]
2) بيت مري 2 وهو شرق الطريق من بيت مري إلى دير القلعة على a sloping plateau facing the junction of the Nahr Meten and Nahr Jamani. It was found by M. Gautier who recovered Heavy Neolithic flint tools from the surface. V. Hankey also recovered some retouched blades from this area.[4]
But what makes very important Beit Mery -even for tourism- are the scattered ruins of the Roman era, that lasted five centuries plus the two of the byzantine era.[5]
في بيت مري there it is what’s left of a Roman temple that once matched عظمة معابد بعلبك وحصن نيحا. A church dedicated to مار يوحنا المعمدان، was built over the temple’s remains in the 18th century. You can still see the original stonework in the remaining columns that adorn the square at the church’s entrance. Though it suffered a great deal of damage during the Civil War, the site has since been dutifully restored and maintained for cultural and touristic events. The monastery has proved an ideal locale for concerts, competitions, art exhibitions, conferences, poetry nights, and social gatherings. In town, below the monastery, you will find smaller temples dedicated to various Roman deities, in addition to public Roman baths with their terra cotta pipes. كما توجد أيضاً بقايا مدينة بيزنطية تعود إلى القرنين الخامس والسادس. وزارة السياحة اللبنانية [6]
