الأمير فيليپ، دوق إدنبره، زوج الملكة إليزابيث الثانية من المملكة المتحدة وبلدان الكومنولث الأخرى، والقرين الملكي الأطول خدمة في تاريخ العالم، توفي في قلعة وندسور عن عمر يناهز 99 صباح يوم 9 أبريل 2021،^[1] بعد شهرين من احتفاله بعيد ميلاده المائة.^[2] وجاء في البيان الرسمي من العائلة المالكة أنه "توفي بسلام". أقيمت جنازته في 17 أبريل 2021. ذكرت شهادة الوفاة، المصدق عليها من السير هو توماس، رئيس الفريق الطبي الملكي، أن سبب وفاته هي الشيخوخة.^[3]
