شارل نودييه

جان شارل إمانوِل نودييه Jean Charles Emmanuel Nodier ‏(29 أبريل 1780 – 27 يناير 1844)، كان مؤلفاً فرنسياً قدّم جيلاً أصغر من الرومانسيين إلى الـconte fantastique، الأدب القوطي، حكايات مصاصي الدماء، وأهمية الأحلام كجزء من الخلق الأدبي، وكثيراً ما يغمط المؤرخون الأدبيون أهمية عمله أميناً لمكتبة.

شارل نودييه (1780 - 1844) نفسه كان دائماً عصياً على التصنيف، حتى وإن كان الباحثون يعزون إليه دوراً كبيراً في ولادة الحركة الرومانسية، (فرنسية كانت أو غير فرنسية). ولقد ولد نودييه في مدينة بيزانسون ليموت بعد 64 سنة في باريس. وهو اهتم منذ سنوات دراسته بالتاريخ الطبيعي. غير أن بروزه وهو في الحادية عشرة، خطيباً مفوهاً خلال حفل تكريمي لوالده، جعله يتجه أكثر فأكثر صوب الأدب ممتزجاً بنفس علمي وتاريخي لا شك فيه... إضافة إلى أنه منذ صباه الباكر وجد نفسه مهتماً بالثورة الفرنسية منضماً إليها حتى من دون أن يتخلى - في أعماقه عن نزعة مَلكية رافقته طوال حياته. أما نزعته الرومانسية فقد تولدت لديه من حكاية حب أولى وقع فيها وهو في الثامنة عشرة. ولسوف نرى آثار كل هذه البدايات الفكرية والسياسية والرومانسية في العدد الأكبر من رواياته ونصوصه الأخرى، والتي كتبها منذ سن الثامنة عشرة، وحتى العام الذي رحل فيه، بحيث إنه خلف أكثر من ستين كتاباً، معظمها ينتمي الى الأدب الفانتازي وإلى النصوص الرومانسية... ناهيك بعدد من الكتب التاريخية.

ولد في بزانسون. His father, on the outbreak of the French Revolution, was appointed mayor of Besançon and consequently chief police magistrate; he seems to have become an instrument of the tyranny of the Jacobins without sharing their principles; but his son was for a time an ardent citizen, and is said to have been a Jacobin Club member at the age of twelve. In 1793 Charles saved the life of a lady guilty of sending money to an émigré, declaring to his father that if she were condemned he would take his own life. He was sent to Strasbourg, where he lived in the house of Eulogius Schneider, the notorious Jacobin governor of Alsace, but a good Greek scholar.

كان الكاتب شارل نودييه فرنسياً حتى النخاع: أدبه فرنسي، شعره فرنسي، ورومانسيته فرنسية من دون لبس أو إبهام، بل حتى شكله فرنسي إن جاز لنا القول إن هناك شكلاً إنسانياً فرنسياً محدداً وواحداً. وذلك إضافة إلى أنه حين كان النقاد يتحدثون عن مرجعية أدبية وفكرية ما، في مجال الحديث عن نودييه، كان الاسم الأول الذي يخطر في بالهم اسم الكاتب الفرنسي بامتياز، على رغم نسبه السويسري، جان - جاك روسو، وتحديداً عمله «إيلويز الجديدة». ومع هذا حين كتب الناقد المهيمن على الحياة الأدبية الفرنسية خلال العقود الوسطى في القرن التاسع عشر، سان - بوف، عن واحدة من روايات نودييه الأساسية وهي رواية «شياطين الليل» - المعروفة أيضا باسم «سمارا»، لم يفته أن يقول إنها فرنسية ولكاتب فرنسي لكنها «مجرمنة» إلى حد كبير (أي مرتبطة برومانسية الأدب الجرماني). وحين احتج أنصار أدب نودييه على هذا التوصيف، ردّ سان - بوف، إنه إنما شاء عبر هذا التوصيف أن يمتدح نودييه لا أن يشتمه لأنه.
