تاپير

التاپير ( /ˈteɪpər/ أو /təˈpɪər/ ta-pier)، هي فصيلة من الثدييات، يشبه في شكله الخنزير، وتملك خرطوم قصير. يوجد أربع أنواع من التاپير: التاپير البرازيلي، تاپير الملايا، تاپير بيرد، وتاپير الجبل. تصنف الفصائل الأربع كلها بأنها مهددة بالإنقراض وأو معرضة للإنقراض. وهي قريبة لباقي أنواع ظلفيات أحادية الأظافر والتي تشمل الخيل ووحيد القرن.

Hybrid tapirs from the Baird's Tapir and the Brazilian Tapir were bred at the San Francisco Zoo around 1969 and produced a second generation around 1970.
