المعهد الأمريكي للملاحة الجوية والفضائية

المعهد الأمريكي للملاحة الجوية والفضائية American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics ‏(AIAA) هو جمعية مهنية لمجال هندسة الطيران والفضاء. تأسس معهد AIAA في 1963 من اندماج جمعيتين سابقتين: جمعية الصواريخ الأمريكية (ARS)، التي تأسست في 1930 بإسم الجمعية الأمريكية لما بين الكواكب (AIS)، و معهد علوم الفضاء (IAS)، الذي تأسس في 1932 بإسم Institute of the Aeronautical Sciences.

AIAA is the U.S. representative on the International Astronautical Federation and the International Council of the Aeronautical Sciences. اعتبارا من 2015, AIAA has more than 30,000 members. Despite its name, the society has members among aerospace professionals worldwide, although the majority are American and/or live in the United States. بعض ندوات ومؤتمرات AIAA يُحظر دخولها لغير الأمريكان، بسبب اعتبارات الأمن القومي.
