مكافحة التمرد

مكافحة التمرد counter-insurgency (COIN)، هي الإجراءات التي تتخذها الحكومة المعترف بها لإحتواء أو اخماد التمرد عليها. يهدف المتمردون لتدمير أو إسقاط السلطة السياسية للسلطات المدافعة ولتولي الشعب السيطرة على الحكم، وتسعى قوات مكافحة التمرد لحماية هذه السلطة وتقليل أو القضاء على سلطة المتمردين التي تهدف للسيطرة على سلطة الدولة.

عمليات مكافة التمرد شائعة أثناء الحروب، الاحتلال والتمردات المسلحة. قد يكون تستخدم مكافحة التمرد القمع المسلح للتمرد، يصاحبه تكتيكات مثل التقسيم والدور المصمم لتكسير الروابط بين التمرد والسكان الذي يتحرك المتمردون بينهم.
