ساكسفون

آلة الساكسوفون الموسيقية، هي إحدى آلات النفخ الشهيرة اخترعها البلجيكي أدولف ساكس في عام 1840.

يحتوي جسم الآلة على عشرين ثقباً يتم التحكم بها عن طريق مفاتيح ، ويتم التحكم بالمفاتيح على شكل مجموعات بواسطة الأصابع الثلاث الأولى من كل يد و هناك أيضا ثقبين آخرين يستخدمان لرفع الأصوات الناتجة عن الآلة أوكتافاً إلى الأعلى أو إلى الأسفل من الطبقة العادية. وهناك عدة أنواع من الساكسفون حسب الطبقة الصوتية التي ينتجها مثل ساكسفون سوبرانو و ساكسفون آلتو و ساكسفون تينور و غيرها. و لجميع الأنواع مجال صوتي يبلغ 2.5 اوكتاڤ ثم استخدام الساكسفون في الأوركسترا لأول مرة في عام 1844. و كتب العديد من المؤلفين الموسيقيين أعمالاً موسيقية للساكسفون وانتشر استخدام الساكسفون في القرن العشرين و خصوصا في الولايات المتحدة. وتزامن انتشارها مع تطور موسيقى الجاز وصار ملازما لها وظهر عازفو ساكسفون مرموقين مثل تشارلي پاركر و لستر يونگ.
