دفاع صاروخي

الدفاع الصاروخي Missile defense، هو نظام، تسليح، أو تكنولوجيا ترتبط بالتحقق، تتبع، إعتراض، وتدمير الصواريخ المهاجمة. في الأصل كان يتصور أنه مصمم للدفاع ضد الصواريخ الباليستية العابرة للقارات ذات الرؤوس النووية، واتسع تطبيقه ليشمل الصواريخ غير النووية التكتيكية وtheater.

الولايات المتحدة، روسيا، فرنسا، الهند، وإسرائيل قامت بتطوير منظمات دفاع صاروخي. في الولايات المتحدة، كان الدفاع الصاروخي في الأصل مسئولية الجيش. طورت وكالة الدفاع الصاروخي الأمريكية أنظمة بحرية وقيادة وتحكم سيتم نقلها في النهاية للقوات البحرية والجوية للتشغيل والاكتفاء.
