البيسبول (إنجليزية Baseball أي كرة القاعدة)لعبة البيسبول أو "كرة القاعدة" رياضة يتكوّن كل فريق قيها من تسعة لاعبين على الاقل. يُعرف القليل جدا عن اصل البيسبول لأنّ بدايتها موضوع الخلاف الكثير. فإنّ الرياضة مثل لعبة الكريكت وتستخدم مضرب وكرة. أعضاء الفريق هم الملتقفون و الضاربون و الرامون . والذكر الأوّل عن لعبة البيسبول في الولايات المتحدة كان في 1791 في مدينة بيتسفيلد في ولاية ماسّاشوستس في لائحة حرّمت لعبة البيسبول قريبا من اجتماعات دار البلديّة. وثم في 1845 كتب اليكساندر كارتريت بعض قوانين لعبة البيسبول التي تستخدم الان. وثم في1875 رابطة نادي البيسبول الحرفيّ أُنشئت. و كان هذا بداية نظام الرابطتين التي اصبحتا الرابطة الامريكية و الرابطة الوطنية . فأحسن فريق من كل رابطة تجتمع لتحديد البطل و بدأت هذه اللعبة أو "ورلد سيريس" في 1903. و في القرن كانت الماضي الرياضة عندها مشاكل كثيرة مثل المقامرة والعنصرية والإضرابات والمخدّرات ومع ذلك فإنّها أصبحت محبوبة جدا. وهكذا في الولايات المتحدة لعبة البيسبول تسمّى بالرياضة الوطنية لكنها أيضا أصبحت محبوبة جدا في بلاد أُخرى مثل كانادا والمكسيك وبورتو ريكو وكوبا وجمهورية الدومنكان وباناما وفينوزولة واليابان وتيوان وكوريا. مع أنّ لعبة البيسبول ليست اكثر محبوبة من كرة القدم في الدنيا فإنّها ستصبح محبوبة اكثر مع "كلاسيك" بيسبول الدنيا مثل الأولمبيّ أو "كأس العالم" في كرة القدم.

In May 2010, the Philadelphia Phillies' Roy Halladay pitched the twentieth major league perfect game. That October, he pitched only the second no-hitter in MLB postseason history.

تطور اللعبة

تطورت لعبة البيسبول على يد اللاعب الأمريكي الموهوب ألكسندر كارترايت ووضع قوانينها الأولى عام 1845. ثم سرعان ما انتشرت في أنحاء الشرق الأمريكي وأعجب بها رجال الأعمال فاهتموا بها وأنشئ أول نادٍ (سينسيناتي) لها في أمريكة عام 1869. وبعد ثماني سنوات انتشر الكثير من أندية المحترفين أبرزها نادي نيويورك وهارفورد وشيكاغو وسانت لويس ولويزفيل، وشكلوا فيما بينهم الرابطة الوطنية لأندية البيسبول للمحترفين، ومن هنا كانت بداية انتشار اللعبة. ثم لاقت هذه الرياضة عام 1900 ضجة كبيرة في أنحاء الولايات المتحدة الأمريكية حين أنشئت الرابطة الأمريكية للبيسبول والتي شكلت تحدياً لرابطة الأندية المحترفة. وفي إحصاء نشر عام 1985 عن رياضة البيسبول في أمريكة ظهر أن عشرة ملايين لاعب يزاولون هذه اللعبة موزعين على أربعة عشر ألف فريق، ثم انتشرت هذه الرياضة في اليابان في نهاية القرن التاسع عشر بوساطة المبشرين الأمريكيين، وصارت من الألعاب الشعبية فيها، وبعدها انتشرت في جزر هاييتي وكوبة، وأصبح هذان البلدان من أكبر المصنعين لكراتها وأدواتها.

ويزاول على الصعيد العالمي هذه اللعبة 137مليون لاعب في أكثر من 60بلداً بإشراف الاتحاد الدولي للبيسبول للهواة (AINBA) الذي تأسس عام 1937. ودخلت رياضة البيسبول للألعاب الأولمبية على سبيل العرض في الأعوام 1904 و1912 و1936 و1952 و1956و1964 و1984 و1988، ثم صارت رياضة أولمبية رسمية بدءاً من أولمبياد برشلونة عام 1992.

قواعد اللعبة

تُؤدى هذه الرياضة بوساطة فريقين يتكون كل منهما من تسعة لاعبين يمثل أحدهم مركز المرسل، وتجري المباراة في مساحة مربعة تبلغ مساحتها نحو 10آلاف م2، ويُرسم في إحدى زوايا هذه الساحة ملعب رئيسي مربع الشكل مساحته 27.45م2، محدد بخطوط تدعى الألماسة Diamant، وفي كل ركن من أركان هذا المربع الثلاثة توجد قاعدة Base وفي الركن الرابع توجد القاعدة الرئيسية.

يقف الضارب للكرة في القاعدة الرئيسية أي «ركن البداية» أو البيت Home ويحمل بيديه المضرب وهو عبارة عن عصا طويلة بشكل الصولجان طولها نحو 1.06م وسمكها في المقدمة 6.98سم، بينما يقف المرسل للكرة وهو أحد أفراد الفريق الخصم في الدائرة الموجودة في منتصف المربع، ويقوم بإرسال كرته (صلبة نوعاً ما) محيطها 22.5سم إلى 23.5سم ووزنها 140غ، باتجاه الضارب الذي يحاول بدوره صد الكرة بالمضرب بعيداً عن متناول لاعبي الخصم المنتشرين في الساحة ويدعون «الملتقين»، وحالما يُبعد الضارب الكرة بعيداً يسرع جرياً للوصول إلى القاعدة الأولى «الركن السهل» ثم القاعدة الثانية «المزدوجة» ثم الثالثة «الثلاثية» ثم يحاول العودة إلى القاعدة الأساسية «الرابعة»، وإذا نجح في المرور على القواعد الأربع يحرز لفريقه نقطة واحدة شريطة عدم التقاط الكرة من أحد الخصوم المنتشرين في ساحة الملعب ويعيدها إلى أحد لاعبي فريقه الموجودين على إحدى القواعد الأربع.

ويجدر التنويه بأن الوصول إلى القواعد الأربع نادر الحصول، وتُلعب المباراة من تسعة أشواط يتناوب فيها الفريقان على الهجوم والدفاع.

أُقيمت أول بطولة عالم في البيسبول عام 1938 وأول بطولة أوربية عام 1963، أما في الولايات المتحدة، فأُقيمت أول سلسلة دولية من اللقاءات عام 1903، ويشارك فيها منذ ذلك الحين أفضل الأندية المحترفة. ويعتبر نجوم هذه اللعبة من أشهر رياضيي العالم وأغناهم، وتُعد أندية نيويورك وبوسطن وسوكس، ونيويورك جايانتز وبروكلن ونيويورك ميتز من أشهر الأندية المحترفة في أمريكة والعالم.
