من المقرر إجراء الانتخابات البرلمانية في العراق في (1 نوفمبر 2025).
[1]إذ ستحدد هذه الانتخابات أعضاء مجلس النواب العراقي البالغ عددهم (329) عضواً، والذين يتحملون مسؤولية انتخاب (رئيس الجمهورية) والمصادقة على تعيين رئيس مجلس الوزراء العراقي.[2][3]
خلفية
أسفرت الانتخابات البرلمانية العراقية 2021 عن حدوث احتجاجات عنيفة في بغداد فضلاً عن أزمة سياسية استمرت أحد عشر شهراً.[4] وفي 3 أغسطس 2022، دعا مقتدى الصدر إلى إجراء انتخابات مبكرة، ولكن محاولته لم تنجح، مما أدى إلى تشكيل ائتلاف دولة القانون الحليف لإيران للحكومة. وغادر مقتدى الصدر الساحة السياسية كما استقال حزبه من مجلس النواب.[5] فيما تداولت الأوساط السياسية تكهنات واسعة حول عودته المحتملة إلى الساحة السياسية قبل الانتخابات المقبلة.[6]إلا أنه في يوليو 2025، أعلن مقتدى الصدر مقاطعته للانتخابات المقبلة[citation needed].
النظام الانتخابي
The electoral system was changed following the 2018 parliamentary elections amid the protests from 2019 to 2021. Previously parliamentary elections had been held using proportional representation, with seats allocated using the Webster/Sainte-Laguë method, using governorates as constituencies. As a result, the 2021 parliamentary elections were held using single non-transferable vote in 83 multi-member constituencies.[7] For the 2025 parliamentary elections, the proportional representation system will be reintroduced, with seats allocated using the modified Webster/Sainte-Laguë method with a divisor of 1.7, in 18 constituencies corresponding to Iraq's governorates. Nine seats are reserved for minorities (five for Christians and one each for Yazidis, Shabaks, Mandaeans and Feyli Kurds).[8][9]
