فنون أدبية

الفنون الأدبية مجموعة المعارف والعادات المكتسبة في الفكر والقول، وتعد لازمة لكل كائن بشري حر. كانت هذه الفنون في الماضي تشمل مجموعتين من الدراسات:

المجموعة الأولى تضم قواعد اللغة والبلاغة والمنطق، وتعنى بالاستخدام الصحيح للغة وحسن تعبير الإنسان عن أفكاره بصورة مقنعة؛
المجموعة الثانية تضم الرياضيات، وكانت في الأصل تتضمن الحساب والهندسة والفلك والموسيقى. ثم لحقت بها العلوم الطبيعية والاجتماعية والإنسانية. وقد تعددت الكليات التي تدرس هذه العلوم الآن وتفرعت، لكنها في الماضي كانت تنضوي تحت الدراسات الأدبية.
