عملية فجر الرحلة
عملية فجر الرحلة Operation Odyssey Dawn هي الاسم الكودي للمشاركة الأمريكية في تطبيق قرار الأمم المتحدة لفرض منطقة حظر الطيران الليبية.[2] تسمى المشاركة البريطانية في نفس الإطار باسم عملية إيلامي، المشاركة الكندية باسم عملية موبايل والمشاركة الفرنسية عملية هارمتان. اقترحت منطقة حظر الطيران الليبية في أعقاب الثورة الليبية 2011 وهاجمة قوات القذافي للمحتجين بالمروحيات والمدافع الثقيلة. في 19 مارس، قررت دول عديدة تحرك عسكري فوري لايقاف العنف تجاه المدنيين في مؤتمر عقد في باريس.[3] بدأت قوات التحالف في عملياتها العسكرية في يوم واحد بشن غارات جوية وإطلاق صواريخ توما هوك العابرة للقارات.[4]

21h: The first main strike involved the launch of 114 Tomahawk cruise missiles from US and UK ships against shoreline air defenses of the Gaddafi regime.[2][12] The Pentagon reports that the dismantling of Libya's ability to hinder the enforcement of the United Nations no-fly zone is only the first of multiple stages in the operation.[13]

Sustained anti-aircraft fire erupted in Tripoli at around 2:33 a.m. Libyan time.[14] Three B-2 bombers dropped 40 bombs on a major Libyan airfield. At the same time, US Air Force fighter jets conducted missions searching for Libyan ground forces to attack. No US aircraft were lost during the missions. [15] The warplanes included Marine Corps Harrier Jump Jets, Air Force B-2 stealth bombers, and F-15 and F-16 fighter jets.[16]
