سدس (جهاز فلكي)

السدس هو جهاز قياس يستعمل زاوية ارتفاع جرم سماوي فوق الأفق. عملية القياس تلك تـُعرف برؤية الجرم أو مشاهدة الجرم. الزاوية ووقت القياس يـُستخدما لحساب خط الموقع Postion line على جدول بحري أو فلكي. ومن الاستعمالات الشائعة للسدس مشاهدة الشمس في الظـُهر لحساب خط العرض. انظر الملاحة الفلكية للمزيد من التفاصيل.
