الأركس

الأركس أو اللاركس Larches هي مخروطيات في جنس Larix، في فصيلة Pinaceae. تنمو ليبلغ ارتفاعها من 15-50 متر، وموطنهم الأصلي في معظم نصف الكرة الشمالي ذي الطقس المعتدل المائل للبرودة، وفي الأراضي الواظئة في أقصى الشمال وفي أعالي الجبال في الجنوب. الأركس هم بين النباتات السائدة في غابات التايگا الشاسعة في كل من روسيا وكندا.

شجرة اللاركس الأوروبي

لاركس ديسيدوا Larix decidua ، وقد أدخلت زراعته في القرن السادس عشر ، و اللاركس الأوروبي ذو أهمية في تشجير بريطانيا ، إلا أن اللاركس الياباني (لاركس لبتوليبس) قد إحتل مكانه. وتشذ أشجار اللاركس عن باقي المخروطيات في أنها تفقد أورقها في الشتاء.

 خشب الأركس

يشبه خشب البيسية في مظهره وهو قيم ومتين وسهل التشغيل . ويستعمل في جميع أنواع الأشغال الإنشائية ، وخاصة المباني وبناء الجسور وفلنكات السكك الحديدية وما أشبه. والخشب ثمين بنوع خاص في الإنشاءات التي تجري تحت الماء.
