قصف استراتيجي

القصف الاستراتيجي Strategic bombing، هي استراتيجية عسكرية استخدمت في الحرب الشاملة بهدف هزيمة العدو عن طريق تدمير قدرته الاقتصادية والإرادة الشعبية على خوض الحرب بدلاً من تدمير قواته البرية والبحرية. وهو عبارة عن هجوم منظم وممنهج من الجو يتم فيها الاستفادة من القاذفات الاستراتيجية، الصواريخ طويلة ومتوسطة المدى، أو الطائرات القاذفة المقاتلة ذات الذراع النووي، للهجوم على الأهداف الحيوية في صنع قدرة العدو على خوض الحرب.

طوكيو بعد القصف الهائل الذي تعرضت له في هجوم مساء 9-10 مارس 1945، وهي أكثر الغارات المفردة دماراً في تاريخ الطيران العسكري. قصف طوكيو في الحرب العالمية الثانية خفض الانتاج الصناعي للمدينة إلى النصف.
