طبقات حمراء

الطبقات الحمراء red beds، صخر رسوبي فتاتي (رمل وطفل عادة)، طلبت حبيباته بأكاسيد حديد وخاصة الهيماتيت، تكونت غالبا في بيئات غير بحرية من خلال عملية أكسدة كاملة للحديد بأكسجين حر (غير متحد) في الغلاف الجوي.
