أعجوبة قيطس (نجم)
أعجوبة قيطس Mira أو الأعجوبة أو ميرا أو ميكرون قيطس نجم سماوي شهير جدا ينتمي الى كوكبة قيطس وهو نجم أحمر عملاق من أشهر النجوم المتغيرة التى لا يثبت ضوؤها على حالة واحدة وقد لوحظ ذلك منذ مئات السنين فقد لاحظ الفلكي رافيد فابريسيوس المتوفي سنة 1617م تأرجح ذلك النجم بين التعتم والسطوع خلال عدة شهور وبسبب هذا التغير أطلق عليه ميرا وتعنى في اللغة اللاتينية العجيب أو الأعجوبة.

سطوعه
يعد أعجوبة قطيس نموذجا نجميا متغيرا طويل الدورة والأول من نوعة بين النجوم المتغيرة المكتشفة يتغير سطوعه بين القدر 5 والقدر 6 كل 331 يوما ويبعد عن الكرة الأرضية نحو 95 سنة ضويئة.
