دى أركيتيتورا "DE architectura" هو اسم العشر كتب التي كتبها ڤيتروڤيو (vitruvio pollione) ، التي ورثناها من العصور القديمة. طبعت عندما قرر القيصر أوغسطس التخطيط العام لتجديد بناء القطاع العام. هذه الكتب، أعيد اكتشافها وترجمتها في عصر النهضة (1414) من قبل پوجو براتشوليني (poggio bracciolini) ونشرت في ڤـِرونا والبندقية. هذة الكتب كانت اأساس الهندسة المعمارية الغربية حتى نهاية القرن التاسع عشر.

Fragment of an anaphoric clock found in Salzburg and corresponding to the description by Vitruvius

The earliest evidence of use of the stereographic projection in a machine is in De architecturacode: la is deprecated , which describes an anaphoric clock (it is presumed, a clepsydracode: grc is deprecated or water clock) in Alexandria. The clock had a rotating field of stars behind a wire frame indicating the hours of the day. The wire framework (the spider) and the star locations were constructed using the stereographic projection. Similar constructions dated from the 1st to 3rd centuries have been found in Salzburg and northeastern France, so such mechanisms were, it is presumed,^[ممن؟] fairly widespread among Romans.^{[بحاجة لمصدر]}
