Image description (English): In the foreground, a woman kneels and wrings blood from a cloth into an ornamented urn or vase. She is wearing a red Renaissance-style dress with white cuffs and collar. Her face is turned downward and her eyelids are lowered. The vase is black with gilt trim, sitting on the stone plinth of some structure which is outside the painting on the viewer's left. Behind her, in the mid-ground, a decapitated man's body and head lay on the ground. In the background are buildings and a cloudy sky.
