Hexagonia apiaria (Pers.) Fr. Image location: Swans Crossing State Forest, New South Wales, Australia Two of these were growing on a particularly identifiable eucalyptus The bark on this tree grows in an outward direction. I have taken an image of the bark to show the habitat where the fungi are located generally. The specimens are abot 7inches across (width). I could be wrong with this identification, but my reference is a very close copy especially to the distinctive, large, angular pores. Used references: Bruce Fuhrer |
