May 24, 2011 Today, the President of Israel, Mr. Shimon Peres, along with IDF Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Benny Gantz visited the southern Tze'elim base to watch an Armor Corps reserve battalion exercise. The President inquired about the welfare and families of the reservist soldiers, who take a temporary leave of absence from work, and leave their homes and families to return to the IDF, training in the heat of the Negev desert. Pictured: President Shimon Peres and Lt. Gen. Gantz take a picture with reservist officers from the battalion. |
