النمر الأبيض The White Tiger هو فيلم درامي صادر في 2021 من إخراج رامين باهراني، والفيلم من بطولة أدراش گوراڤ والذي يعتبر أول دور بطولة له، بالاشتراك مع پريانكا تشوپرا وراجكومار راو. الفيلم إنتاج مشترك بين موكول ديورا ورامين باهراني، قام كل من پريانكا تشوپر و پرم أكاراجو وأڤا دوڤرنا بالإنتاج التنفيذي.[1][2][3] يتضمن الفيلم مقطوعات موسيقية من تأليف داني بنسي وساوندر جوريانز، قام بالتصوير پاولو كارنيرا أما عن مونتير الفيلم فهو تيم ستريتو. الفيلم مقتبس من رواية النمر الابيض الصادرة عام 200 للكاتب أڤريندا أديگا وتتحدث عن بالرام الآتي من قرية هندية فقيرة والذي ستخدم ذكائه ودهائه للهروب من الفقر.[4] قام أديگا بنشر كتابه وقرر تحويله إلى فيلم في نهاية 2010 وقام ببيع حقوق الملكية للمنتج موكول ديورا، لكن لم يبدأ الأخير في العمل على الفيلم إلا بعد سنوات، وتم تمليف باهراني بتحويل الفيلم وكان متحمس للقيام بذلك، وكان قد قرأ مسودات الرواية قبل نشرها.[5] تم تصوير الفيلم في دلهي في الفترة بين أكتوبر وديسمبر 2019، وعُرض لأول مرة في لاس فگاس في 6 يناير 2021،[6] وعرض الفيلم لفترة محدودة في قاعات السنيما في الولايات المتحدة بداية من 13 يناير.[6] تم عرض الفيلم عالميًا على منصة نتفليكس في 22 يناير 2021.[7] تلقى الفيلم مراجعات إيجابية من النقاد الذين أثنوا على الإخراج والنص السنيمائي وأداء الممثلين.

في 2010، يقوم بالرام هالوي بمراسلة رئيس مجلس الدولة الصيني ون جيابو، لطلب تحديد موعد، ويقوم برواية قصة حياته، كما يقوم بذكر رأيه حول كيف أن الطبقى الدنيا في الهند محاصرة في العبودية الدائمة، مثل الدجاج داخل حظيرة الدجاج.

خلال طفولته في لاكشمانگراه، حصل بالرام على منحة لدخول مدرسة في دلهي، لتفوقه الأكاديمي. وأطلق عليه "النمر الأبيض"، وهو الشخص الذي لا مثيل له في جيل معين. برغم ذلك عندما أصبح أبوه غير قادر دفع إيجار للمالك، أجبرته جدته على عمل في أحد أكشاك الشاي في القرية، ولم يستطع بالرام العودة إلى المدرسة مرة أخرى. وتوفى بالرام بمرض السل، ولم يجد أي طبيب يعالجه.

وعندما كبر، طمح بالرام طمح لأن يكون سائق لدى ابن صاحب الأرض أشوك الذي عاد من الولايات المتحدة مع زوجته التي نشأت في جاكسون هايتس، كوينز پينكي. قامت جدة بالرام بدفع تكلفة دروس القيادة له، بعد أن وعدها بمشاركة راتبه معها. عُين بعدها لدى عائلة المالك كسائق بديل، كمما كلف أيضًا بأعمال منزلية وكان يتم إساءة معاملته عندما لا ينيهيا، ظل بالرام مخلصًا لهم تحت التهديد بقتله هو وعائلته بأكملها في حال قام بخيانتهم.

يقرر أشوك وپينكي الانتقال لدلهلي، حيث سيقوم أشوك بدفع رشوة لبعض السياسيين الهنةد حتى لاتقوم عائلته بدفع الضرائب، يقوم بالرام بكشف سر السائق الأساسي: وهو أنه مسلم، رغبة منه في إيصال الثنائي إلى دلهي، فتقوم العائلة بطرد السائق (بسبب التحيز النمطي للأسرة ضد المسلمين)، وفي النهاية يذهب معهم إلى دلهي. على عكس باقي ألإراد الأسرة يعامل كل من أشوك وپينكي باحترام حتى أنه يصبح قريبًا منهم برغم أنهما مازالوا ينظروا إليه على أنه خادم.


في دلهي وفي عيد ميلاد پينكي، تتثمل هي وزوجها ويجبرا بالرام على ترك پينمي تقود مما يتسبب في حادث اصطدام ودهس طفل، تجبر عائلةالمالك بالرام على التوقيع على اعتراف أقرته جدته أيضًا. في النهاية لا يتم التوجيه التهمة إلى أي شخص، لكن بالرام يظل متأثرًا بالحادث، ويشعر أنه عائلة المالك قادرة على الاستغناء عنه في أي وقت.

تترك پينكي أشوك وتعود إلى نيويورم، ويبقى بالرام بجانبه ليسانده معنويًا، لكنه يدرك أنه وفاءه لأشوك لن يضمن له حياة مريحة عندما يتم الاستغناء عن خدماته. يبدأ بالرام بالاحتيال على أشوك بإرسال له فواتير وهمية، كما كان يحصل على المال عن طريق بيع وقود السيارة واستغلالها كسيارة أجرة غير مرخصة.

يبدأ بالرام مواجهة سلسلة من الانتكاسات، حيث يقوم بإثارة غضب العائلة عندما يعطي لأحد االشحاذي بعض النقود. تقوم جدته بإرسال أحد أبناء أخوته بشكل مفاجئ ليعيش معه ليتعلم منه القيادة، ويعلم أيضًا أن جدته تخطط لتزويجه دون رضاه، في تلم الأثناء يخطط أشوك لدفع رشوة كبيرة، واستبدال بالرام بسائق أخر.

يدرك بالرام ا، علهي الهرب من العبودية بما أنه "نمر أبيض". ومن أجل الحصول على الأموال التي كان سيدفعها أشوك كرشوة يقوم بقتله ويهرب مع ابن أخيه، فيصدر في حقه مذكرة اعتقال لكنه يتمكن من الهرب

يأخذ بالرام ابن أخيه إلى بنگالور، والتي تعتبر مركز لشركات تكنولوجيا المعلومات، ويستخدم جزء من الأموال التي قام بسرقتها لرشوة الشرطة للقضاء على مقدمي خدمة سيارات الأجرة بسبب عدم وجود رخص. يؤسس بالرام شركة لسيارت الأجرة، ويصبح غنيًا. يعامل بالرام سائقيه على أنهم موظفيين وليس عبيد، ويتحمل المسئوليات الشخصية والمادية عند وقوع الحوادث لهم حت أنه وظف أخ لطفل تسبب في قتله أحد السائقيين، ويتجمل نفقات تعليم ابن اخيه ويدرك أن ما تبقى من عائلته في الديار قد قتلوا فالغالب على يد عائلة أشوك انتقامًا لمقتله.

يشعر بالرام بالسعادة لهربه من العبودية، ويكشف في نهاية الفيلم أنه قام بتغيير اسمه إلى أشوك شارما.

قام داني بنسي و ساوندر جوريانز بتأليف موسيقى الفيلم الأصلية وتم الاستعانة بمجموعة متنوعة من الأغاني لفنانين مستقلين، من سنوات مختلفة.[10][11] استخدمت أغنية "Akh Lar Gayee" و"O Murari Re" كمونتاج (الأغاني التي يتم تشغيلها بجانب القصة). وتم استخدام أغنية "Jungle Mantra" كموسيقى ترويجية وهي أغنية تصف حياة بالرام (أدارش گرواڤ)، وهي أغنية لمغني الراپ الهندي ديڤين) بالشتراك مع مغني الراب الأمريكاات ڤينس ستاپلس و پوشا تي وجاواديستا، وتم طرح الأغنية في 15 يناير 2021.[12]

العرض

شاركت پريانكا تشوپرا بعض الصور من فيلم النمر الأبيض،[13][14] عبر صفحاتها على مواقع التواصل في أكتوبر.[15][16] وصدر الإعلان الترويجي للفيلم في أكتوبر،[17][18] أما الإعلان الكامل فصدر في 21 ديسمبر.[19][20] عُرض الفيلم لأول مرة في عرض خاص للصحافة غي لاس ڤگاس في 6 يناير 2021،[21] وتم عرضه في صالات عرض محدودة في الولايات المتحدة في 13 يناير 2021.[22] وعُرض لاحقًا عالميًا على نتفليكس في 22 يناير 2021.[23]

قام المنتج جون هارت برفع قضية على صناع العمل بسبب انتهاك حقوق النشر.[24] وقال المنتج أن أبرم مع مؤلف الكتاب أراڤيند أديگا إتفاق لبيع الحقوق الأدبية في مارس 2009 وكل ينوي أن يقوم بغنتاج فيلم هوليوودي يستحق جائزة أوسكار ولكن لم بحدث ذلك. في أكتوبر 2019 تفاجئ أن نتفليكس بدأت في تصوير الفيلم وتعتزم عرضه على المنصة وأدى ذلك إلى إرسال إشعار قانوني إلى منتج العمل موكل ديورا وإلى نتفليكس لوقف العمل.[25] رفضت محكمة دلهي العليا دعوته لعدم امتلاكه أدلة لتقديمها للمحكمة خلال أقل من 24 ساعة من إصدارها ،[26] رغم استعداء المحكمة لديورا ونتفليكس لانتهاكهم ححقوقو النشر.[27]

النقد

على موقع المراجعات روتن توماتوز، حصل الفيلم على إعجاب 92% من المشاهدين وذلك بناء على 161 مراجعة، وحصل على تقييم 7.5/10. واجمع نقاد الموقع على "التمثيل المتقن الإبداع في الصنع، وأن النمر الأبيض يحول قوة المصادر التي اسُتلهم منها إلى دراما مقنعة."[28] أما على متاكريتيك فقد حصل على 76 نقطة من 100، حسب رأي 38 ناقد، مشيرين إلى حصوله على "مراجعات إيجابية بشكل عام".[29]

Joe Morgenstern of The Wall Street Journal called the film "funny and ferocious" and described it as "a zestful epic blessed with rapier wit, casually dazzling dialogue, gorgeous cinematography and, at the center of it all, a sensational star turn by [...] Adarsh Gourav أما في وول ستريت جورنال فقصد وصفه جو موگنسترن بأنه "مضحك وشرس، ".[30] Rating the film 3.5 stars out of 4, Michael Phillips of Chicago Tribune termed the film a "propulsive adaptation", writing "The cast brings an edge and a drive to the telling, while cinematographer Paolo Carrera captures both the real-life grit and the dreamy, aspirational glamour of Balram’s unsentimental education."[31] David Rooney of The Hollywood Reporter wrote "An immersive plunge into the chasm separating the servant class from the rich in contemporary India, the drama observes corruption at the highest and lowest levels with its tale of innocence lost and tables turned. If there's simply too much novelistic incident stuffed into the overlong film's Dickensian sprawl, the three leads' magnetic performances and the surprising twists of the story keep you engrossed."[32] The Times's Kevin Maher rated the film 4 out of 5 stars, noting the film as "a dizzy, woozy, taxi ride to the dark side" and praised Chopra Jonas' performance, calling her "impressive".[33]

Richard Lawson of Vanity Fair praised the acting and Bahrani's direction and screenplay, saying that the film brings the celebrated novel to vivid life.[34] In his 4 out of 5 stars review, Robbie Collin of The Telegraph wrote "a punchy, propulsive watch, blown along by snappy editing and a hip-hop-driven soundtrack that stresses that there’s still much fun to be had when hefty themes of inequality and geopolitics are being tackled."[35] Bilge Ebiri of the New York magazine called the film "a Brutal, Powerful Tale of Ambition, Class, and Corruption" that "cuts across borders and continents, and [...] cuts into the soul as well".[36] Peter Bradshaw of The Guardian gave the film 4 stars out of 5, describing as a "Balzac-worthy satire of submission and power" and wrote "Bahrani [adapts and] also directs with terrific storytelling energy."[37] Clarisse Loughrey from The Independent opined that the film was a "dark but exhilarating satire of capitalism".[38] Peter Travers pf ABC News praised the "throughout pitch perfect" acting and Bahrani's direction, writing "Ramin Bahrani keeps you on the edge of your seat."[39] Owen Gleiberman of Variety opined that the film is "an ironic study of the psychology of servitude", praising the performances by Chopra Jonas' and Gourav whom he called "marvelous".[40]

David Ehrlich of IndieWire gave the film a "B", calling it a "darkly comic thriller" and a "brutal corrective" to Slumdog Millionaire (2008).[41] K. Austin Collins from Rolling Stone gave the film 3 out of 5 stars, writing that the film was a capable, compelling and topical drama but suffered "for giving us a setup that’s richer than the follow-through." The critic praised Gourav's performances as "unassuming but pitch-perfect" and he felt that Rao and Chopra Jonas also gave equally worthy performances.[42] In a mixed review, A.O. Scott of The New York Times deemed the film "a barbed rags-to-riches tale" and wrote "The plot is lively, and the settings vividly captured by Bahrani and the director of photography, Paolo Carnera, but the characters don’t quite come to life. They aren’t trapped by prescribed social roles so much as by the programmatic design of the narrative, which insists it is showing things as they really are. If it wasn’t so insistent, it might be more convincing."[43] Jesse Hassenger of The A. V. Club criticised the film for only "hitting the key themes and scenes without finding an independent tone", while also adding that the overtly explaining narration repeatedly takes the reins away from Gourav’s acting.[44]
