أستون ڤيلا
نادي أستون ڤيلا لكرة القدم،[5] هو نادي كرة قدم مقره أستون، برمنگهام، إنگلترة. يلعب النادي حالياً في الدوري الإنگليزي الممتاز، وهو الفريق الأبرز في مدينة برمنگهام. كان أستون ڤيلا من أهم أندية إنگلترة وممن مؤسسى الدوري الإنگليزي الممتاز في 1888، وكذلك من الأعضاء المؤسسين للدوري الإنگليزي الممتاز في عام 1992.[6] ويذكر أن رئيس النادى وليام ماك‌گريگور الذي ترأس أستون ڤيلا عام 1885 هو صاحب فكرة إنشاء الدوري الإنگليزي. يشارك النادي في منافسات الدوري الإنگليزي الممتاز، بعد ما عاد للدوري بعد غياب دام 3 سنوات في دوري البطولة الإنگليزية.[7]

يلعب الفريق مبارياته الرسمية في ملعب ڤيلا پارك، وهو ملعب بُنِيَ في عام 1897 ويتسع لحضور 42.785 ألف متفرج.[8] أستون ڤيلا هو واحد من 5 أندية إنگليزية فقط فازت بكأس أوروپا (والذي يعرف حالياً باسم دوري أبطال أوروپا.)، وكان ذلك في موسم 1981–82، وحقق كذلك لقب كأس السوپر الأوروپي في نسخة 1983. محلياً، فازوا بلقب الدوري الإنگليزي الممتاز 7 مرات ، وكأس إنگلترة 7 مرات ، بينما فازوا بلقب كأس رابطة الأندية الإنگليزية المحترفة 5 مرات ودرع الاتحاد الإنگليزي مرة واحدة.
يعرف الفريق بعدة ألقاب؛[5] ذي ليونز (الأسود) إنگليزية: The Lions، العنابي السماوي إنگليزية: The Claret & Blue Army ، ڤيلا إنگليزية: Villa، الڤيلا إنگليزية: The Villa والڤيلانس إنگليزية: The Villans[5]ينافس للفريق جاره وعدوه اللدود نادي برمنگهام سيتي، في دربي يٌعرف باسم دربي برمنگهام منذ عام 1879.[9] ألوان الفريق الرسمية هي قمصان من نوع كلاريت، ذات أكمام سماوية زرقاء وشورتات بيضاء وجوارب سماء زرقاء. شعار النادي التقليدي عبارة عن أسد متفش.[10][11] النادي مملوك حالياً لمجموعة NSWE، وهي شركة يملكها الملياردير المصري ناصف ساويرس والملياردير الأمريكي ويس إيدنس.

- A. ^ In 2001 Aston Villa were one of three co-winners of the Intertoto Cup with Paris Saint-Germain and Troyes AC. The club also won all of their 2008 Intertoto Cup rounds to be named joint-winners and progress to the UEFA Cup, the format was changed in 2006 to award the Intertoto Trophy to the side progressing furthest in the UEFA Cup, which was S.C. Braga.
